Nico Rosberg ‘bans Lewis Hamilton from entering his house’ after sending gifts to his kids
Nico Rosberg joked that Lewis Hamilton isn’t allowed home for Christmas, despite him sending his kids presents every year.
The two had a fierce rivalry during their time in F1 that reached fever pitch, but became close friends during their illustrious karting careers. The friendship has not been renewed since the German driver’s unexpected retirement in 2016.
Despite the breakdown in personal relations, Hamilton continues to send gifts to the children of his former team-mate and title rival at Christmas. Rosberg’s two daughters are fans of the seven-time world champion, who is preparing for his first season as a Ferrari driver in 2025.
“Another weakness is probably a sore point for you,” Rosberg said when asked on Germany’s NDR talk show. “Are both your daughters Lewis Hamilton fans?” The former Mercedes driver replied: “That’s true too. It’s more than just a weakness. “That’s a big problem.”
His wife, Vivian, confirmed that the Brit showers their daughters with gifts every year: “Yes, he always gets them Barbie dolls for Christmas,” she admitted. Her husband added: “No, that’s wonderful. He’s a sweet guy.” We had a kind of feud. Now both kids have a huge box of presents from him on their doorstep every Christmas. “That’s a good approach.”
Unfortunately for the seven-time world champion, his festive generosity prevented him from entering the Rosberg home. “He’ll have to stay outside the door,” joked the 2016 world champion. “But it is at his discretion to leave a gift.”
The relationship between Hamilton and Rosberg has long been a source of intrigue for F1 fans, with the German driver-turned-entrepreneur having vouched for his former teammate’s talents over the last few seasons, but their one-on-one interview on Sky Sports F1 was an awkward one.
39 -year -old Euro Sports states: But that is always the case. When you fight for success in every race and for titles, it doesn’t work anymore.
It was a build-up from one race to the next. If you want to decide for yourself who will win the World Cup, you cannot play “love, peace and harmony”. You will have to test the limits and go into the gray areas to win, especially when both riders are at such a level. After that, it often gets harder.
